Debunking 5 fallacies in
Dating
If you think women are the only ones prowling the web for dating advice, wait till you hear
about the popularity of dating tips for guys. Guys are as conscious in dating as girls since no serious dater would
want to create a bad first impression around a person he/she likes. First impressions matter a lot, thus, the best
dating tips for guys are commonly searched for by the potential lover-boys.
However, what if you stumble on a fallacy which you accidentally and mistakenly perceived to be
true? Here are 5 of the worst fallacies that should not be mentioned in dating tips for guys as well as fallacies
which you should scratch off immediately from your list!
1. Girls like “bad” boys. If there’s one bad boy girls will love ultimately, it
would be James Dean. If it’s anyone other than him, then you’ve found yourself a fallacy. Girls love chivalrous
boys as well as boys who have a distinct naughty side; however, girls would still pick a polite and serious guy
over someone who is not serious in his relationship; another term for this would be a player.
2. Girls are turned off by geeks. True and false—if you’re geeky, shy and
atrocious, then you might have a difficult time with girls, however, if you are well-informed and a wide reader,
you would definitely have a few girls wanting you. Other than looks, girls look at one’s intelligence, so keep on
reading; at least you’ll be having something else to talk about on the date other than the same old sports
game.
3. Boys who can dance Salsa, Tango or Cha-Cha are gay. Totally not true! This
fallacy is thrown around by guys who can’t dance but if you are born with two left feet yourself, don’t be ashamed
to learn how to dance even if it’s just mild swinging from one side to another. Dancing is one of the easiest and
fastest ways to hold a girl close and to let her know that your array of talents is not limited to rapidly clicking
on remote control buttons.
4. Beards and long hair are sexy. Well, yes, but to other girls, it would be scary
especially if you have birds living in your beard. If you must try to keep a beard, make sure it looks good on you.
Try to see in the mirror how you would look like if you had a beard. If it will make you look older than what your
age suggests, then ditch the idea. Instead of making you look good for the girls to see, your beard could make you
a scary sight.
5. Men are often criticized for smelling bad so don’t lift a finger—it’s called
your own “manly” scent. Since when did smelling like rotten cheeseburgers seem manly? It’s true that men are often
criticized for smelling differently, but it doesn’t mean you’re not going to take a bath, right? Hygiene is very
important in finding a date, more so, in attracting women. Prioritizing your hygiene can make women like you
easier.
Now that you have five of the worst fallacies busted, it’s time you go out into the dating world
with a whole new outlook. Remember these fallacies and make sure you avoid them next time. Your dating experience
could rely on it.
